CONCERT REVIEW: Amber Liu

It all began with a bang called White Noise. Shortened to a dance routine, beginning the star’s debut North American tour of five cities in the U.S. and one in Canada (Toronto, to be exact). Chicago was first up and the crowd could not have showed her more love at Park West on Armitage. It was a diverse crowd, with an average age spanning somewhere between 18 and 35 – mostly women but quite a few gentlemen as well. My colleague and I ran into multiple people who had met her through a VIP ticket experience prior to entering the … Continue reading CONCERT REVIEW: Amber Liu

MAD PROPS – 12/04/18

Short and sweet, but here are some reviews nonetheless!! SINGLES Sasha – Ouch! U.K. – Folk Pop Release Date: November 29, 2018 With an eerie organ sound starting this song, one wouldn’t expect this one to take such an infectious turn. Catchy is as catchy does and well, London singer-songwriter Sasha is damn catchy throughout Ouch!. It has Alice In Wonderland feels without feeling too overtly odd (because we all know how weird of a turn that can take sometimes). The chorus is something to marvel at, with your “arms wide open”, as her lyrics state. And while she sings … Continue reading MAD PROPS – 12/04/18

Charlotte Qvale – OSLO (Review)

It takes something intrinsically special within an artist to be able to make beauty out of the melancholy parts of life. And that’s exactly what Charlotte Qvale did on this single Oslo (gets cold this time of year). Born in Iceland but raised in Norway, Charlotte has been writing and composing music since the humble age of 7 years old. She has collaborated with fellow Norwegian artists Jonas Alaska and Marte Wulff and been a part of the trio known simply as VIGGO. Her latest single Oslo (gets cold this time of year) is a somber yet, beautiful representation of … Continue reading Charlotte Qvale – OSLO (Review)

ELECTRONIC MUSIC – COPYCAT OR CREATIVE?

There are two types of people in this world… PEOPLE WHO LOVE ELECTRONIC MUSIC & PEOPLE WHO HATE IT WITH A PASSION I have rarely come across those who, simply put, “tolerate it”. You’re either hardcore about that life, whether you’re a wannabe DJ or a massive fan of crazy huge music festivals like Spring Awakening in Chicago, Ultra Music Festival in Miami, FL, Electric Forest in Rothbury MI, and Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, NV… OR… You hate it so much that you turn the channel on the radio as soon as anything slightly resembling EDM comes on … Continue reading ELECTRONIC MUSIC – COPYCAT OR CREATIVE?
