In Memoriam

Death. Such a short word for something so impacting.

This was my Grandma – one of the most beautiful, tender and purest souls I have ever known. She was a few weeks away from her 87th birthday.

I have gone 30 years without ever experiencing the death of a loved one. When my grandma passed away recently, it left me to try and find a way to process through my feelings, fumbling for words and thoughts and even prayers at moments. The power of music has been beyond helpful with the numbness, the hurt and the angry feelings; the full spectrum of emotions. My roller coaster emotions can best be described by the songs/videos below and one very special song, near and dear to my heart directly below this paragraph.

*** Somewhere Over the Rainbow ***

This song was played at her service yesterday because it was one of her favorite songs.
This is a great rendition by Leanne and Naara, a musical duo from the Philippines.

The rest of the videos are moody ones… Buckle up!

  1. Love the different varieties of music! Sick of the same old thing here in the states. There are so many talented people out there, it is nice to hear something new.
