ITS THE PARADE OF NATIONS! I love watching the citizens of the globe proudly wave their flag around, wearing fun outfits that either show off their flag colors or something else entirely *ahem* TONGA *ahem*. And while I am in love with countries, continents, cultures, languages and the like, EVEN I FORGET ABOUT CERTAIN COUNTRIES. So I will give a few of … Continue reading Forgotten Worlds

RIP: Ellen Joyce Loo

My heart is absolutely broken at the news of Ellen Loo’s death, which happened at around 9:50am this morning, according to Insider. She was seen falling from a building and her body was found by police shortly after. The Cantopop singer was one half of the electrofolk duo at17 along with singer Eman Lam, and had continued as a solo singer after they called it quits in 2010. She was born in Canada but moved to Hong Kong when she was four and went to a Chinese-speaking school despite her brother and cousins being placed in international schools, which forced … Continue reading RIP: Ellen Joyce Loo

Editorial: From My Heart To Your’s

As I was working on the latest Wisecrackz blog post, I came across comments on YouTube that inspired me to write this piece for artists and bands. Keep in mind, this is coming from a musician. Someone who not only listens to music, but also lives, breathes and creates music, so I can get defensive when it comes down to it. While researching, I noticed comment after comment on a Pale Waves video along the lines of this subject: “Oh look! This one sounds exactly like all the others too!” “You’ve made the same song like six times” “Is it … Continue reading Editorial: From My Heart To Your’s
