COVER LOVER – Vol. 1

We love a good cover when we find one. We present to you our first edition of our Cover Lover segment… enjoy!   Ex Makina – Wonderwall (Oasis Cover) U.K. | Pop Ok… I already love Wonderwall since it’s a classic so it’s hard to think of the song any way other than it’s 90’s-ness. Well… this right here? This is a whole other epic way to imagine the song. HOLY CUSSWORD.   ANKOR – Havana (Camila Cabello Cover) Spain | Alternative Metal Who knew that adding gritty screams and metal instrumentation could add such an interesting flavor to pop … Continue reading COVER LOVER – Vol. 1

Thomas Lundell Releases New Bombshell Single

Let Her Run by Thomas Lundell He does it yet again – Let Her Run is proof that Thomas Lundell is the next buzz boy of pop singer-songwriters. Only the fourth song released by this Swede, Let Her Run tells a tale of sacrificing everything – giving it all – for success in love; a tale that all lovesick folks and hopeless romantics can relate to. It starts off with the trend of electronic pop elements before Lundell’s voice graces us with it’s presence, smoother and clearer than ever. He begins, “Take me to the part where she ran … Continue reading Thomas Lundell Releases New Bombshell Single

Meh or Yeh Album Reviews

Winter Grit – EP Ane Bjerkan Norway | Folk/Ambient This EP is not due out until February 9, but I had the awesome opportunity to preview it before it drops. With a similar vocal quality to that of Bjork’s at times, Ane Bjerkan is unmistakably her own conceptual artist with a niche for haunting, solemn tunes. Though the other two tracks on this 3 track EP are decent compositions, I am still stuck listening to track one on repeat. Slowly Collapsing Star evokes so much emotion that it is quite difficult to put into words. I had read a … Continue reading Meh or Yeh Album Reviews

Album Reviews – Robert Moses & The Harmony Crusaders

PLUTONIC FRIENDS By Robert Moses & the Harmony Crusaders Psychedelic Americana | Norway Imagine that Hank Williams and Neil Young were able to make a baby on their own and named the little baby miracle Robert Moses. OK, maybe that’s a little bit off-the-wall, but I do see similarities in Robert Moses’ sometimes shaky voice, musical stylings and the trajectory that he is shooting for. Is Plutonic Friends the best that Moses and his Harmony Crusaders have to offer us? Maybe. Maybe not. As I sit here, reviewing this album, I am listening to it for at least the fifth … Continue reading Album Reviews – Robert Moses & The Harmony Crusaders

Foy Vance

At First Vance IRELAND | FOLK The first time I had ever heard the name “Foy Vance,” I turned to my friend at a Josh Groban concert and said, “That’s a funny way to say Vance Joy. Someone is getting fired.” And then this group of dapper men got on stage and the man who stepped up to the microphone was certainly not Vance Joy. “Closing my eyes for just a moment, I could imagine myself in Northern Ireland, sitting in a cozy pub on a rainy night with a pint of something delicious listening to soul-soothing music” “Who is … Continue reading Foy Vance
